Guillaume Met de Penninghen

The painter,draughtsman and ceramist William Met Penninghen or Guillaume Met de Penninghen was born in the Belgian city of Gent in 1912.He was a painter of portraits,women,nudes,still lifes in the Art Deco,Orientalist and Post-Impressionist style.After study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris,his work in ceramics owe him the gold medal at the International Exhibition of ceramic Cannes in 1961 and Prague in 1963.He founded in 1947 with Jacques Andon,a preparatory workshop in Paris.In 1968,he founded the Graduate School of Graphic Arts Penninghen.
