South African culture embraces a gamut of cultures representative of the diverse origins of all its peoples, for example, there are 14 official languages and many more unofficial ones. It is steeped in Southern African tribal origins, and diluted by colonialism and strong Western European and American influences. The country is rapidly moving towards western culture and modernism. It would be normal to find an Internet Cafe next door to a Witchdoctor's rooms in any of our thriving and contemporary cities and towns.
